RAFE CHURCHILL combines first-hand experience in the construction industry with extensive knowledge of art and design to offer what no other general contractor can a complete understanding of the collaboration between the design and building processes. He possesses the unique ability to comprehend, and then create, exactly what his clients envision.
Growing up in a family of carpenters and general contractors, Rafe completed an apprenticeship in carpentry before attending Bennington College, graduating with degrees in both architecture and sculpture. He continued his studies in the MFA program for sculpture at the Cranbrook Academy of Art and as a fellow at the Banff Center for the Arts in Alberta, Canada.
Upon completing his studies, Rafe moved to New York City to pursue his interests of architecture and contemporary art. As a young artist, Rafe was featured in numerous gallery and museum exhibitions.

His sculptures and installation work have been included in critical reviews in The New York Times and several exhibition catalogs.
Rafes inherent design and construction experience opened the door to many opportunities to renovate small galleries throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn in the early nineties. He later progressed to the apartments and country houses of fellow artists and designers.
In 2003, Rafe returned to Connecticut to join the family business and focus on design work and construction management. His experience in both industries facilitates communication between Churchill Brothers, LLC and the client, particularly when interpreting drawings, value engineering, and working through program revisions.
Rafe lives with his wife and two young children in Sharon, CT, is an active member in the local community, and enjoys spending time outdoors occasionally finding time in the studio.
